Job Summary of the Emerging Markets Manager
The Emerging Markets Manager is responsible for accelerating sales of Axogen products in target accounts in specified applications including OMF, Head and Neck, Specialty Podiatry, Neurology, and additional defined indications. The Emerging Markets Manager will identify, profile, and promote Axogen nerve repair products to specific surgeons within a targeted regional geography who are microsurgically trained. The Emerging Markets Manager will serve as a sales and clinical resource to these surgeons on the clinical benefits of Axogen’s products, provide education and information on best practices in the science of nerve repair, offer additional training as requested with technical skills all with aim to develop valuable relationships that will allow the surgeon to deliver excellent outcomes to his/her patients. The Emerging Markets Manager will also support the Company’s efforts to develop its presence in these markets by participating in regional and national clinical conferences, attending professional education events, and coordinating local symposia and training events. In addition, the Emerging Markets Manager works strategically and collaboratively with the local Axogen sales representative to achieve corporate sales goals. They will also be responsible for developing best practices and sales training needed to scale these specialties across the organization for future growth.
Requirements of the Emerging Markets ManagerÂ
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; clinical or scientific focus is strongly preferred
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated success in a hospital and/or based sales role in the medical device industry is essential.Â
- Strong preference will be given to candidates with sales experience in the peripheral nerve space and to those with experience with paradigm changing technologies.
- Track record of success in achieving high growth sales quotas.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to accurately rely a compelling value proposition for Axogen’s portfolio of nerve repair products.
- Ability to transfer knowledge to others and coach them to achieve goals
- Pleasant, professional and proactive entrepreneurial self-starter who enjoys being part of a fast moving and growing team.
- Demonstrated success in organizing and executing professional education events.
- Willing and able to travel domestically, in a targeted regional geography that includes multiple states, up to 65% of the time to respond to the needs of the customers and organization.Â
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.
- Self-directed, organized and goal oriented.
- Proficiency with MS Office Applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required.
Responsibilities of the Emerging Markets ManagerÂ
- Reach established sales and corporate goals.
- Serve as a clinical resource and expert on nerve repair and the benefits of AxoGen’s products to surgeons and to the Axogen sales and marketing team members.
- Develop product, clinical and technical expertise required to represent Axogen credibly and successfully and the Axogen portfolio of nerve repair products to clinicians and hospital purchasing agents.
- Demonstrate a strategic selling approach by successfully positioning and communicating a value proposition that is compelling to the sales target.
- Accelerate sales of Axogen nerve repair products to surgeons and accounts in the target area.
- Provide a plan and execution strategy for calling on target surgeons and accounts.
- Facilitate stocking and ordering of AxoGen products in the account to facilitate regular usage.
- Provide regular feedback and suggestions on market trends, training needs and potential product additions.
- Focus on increasing qualified leads and converting them to sustainable sales, then managing those relationships.
- Build relationships with the key market influencers and identify potential opportunities for collaboration.
- Create in-field strategies to build a network between the Specialty Applications Sales Manager, surgeons, and local sales representative.
- Conduct cold calls and presenting / articulating the key benefits of AxoGen’s products to the sales targets.
- Work in partnership with the local AxoGen sales representation to meet territory objectives.
- Assess sales target needs through active listening and provide solutions.
- Develop sales training to scale for growth in new applications
- Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute market development events. Travelling to events and leading them as required.
- Track and report contacts with customers, individual customer needs and interests, and customer adoption rates.

Benefits/Compensation
The anticipated target compensation for base plus commission is ~$230k (uncapped).Â

Axogen is on a hybrid work schedule for some of our positions based out of our headquarters in Florida, with 3 days in office and 2 days remote. The hybrid work schedule does not include sales or facilities in Ohio or Texas.
Axogen follows healthcare system guidelines with respect to credentialing, vaccinations and other employment/compliance related requirements, as well as CDC guidance. Axogen reserves the right to amend its policies from time to time in its sole discretion.
