Ardent is seeking an Emerging Technology Policy Writer to join our team. 

This is a Remote Role. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Research and maintain knowledge of cutting-edge emerging technology trends (including but not limited to: artificial intelligence, machine learning, quantum computing, internet of things, and cloud computing) and identify high-impact technology opportunities for improving Federal government practices 
  • Analyze emerging technology implications and develop potential policy recommendations for government-wide adoption  
  • Assess policy impact, and identify policy gaps or inconsistencies in the context of existing policies, laws, executive orders, agency guidance, and regulations  
  • Gather, analyze, and compose technical information using plain language for use by technical and non-technical users  
  • Develop white papers, memos, briefings, talking points, and slide decks for senior-level stakeholders across the government 
  • Identify key government agencies, offices, councils, and committees to implement policy and maintain relationships for future collaboration 
  • Engage with subject matter experts for feedback on research topics 
  • Manage client activities on a day-to-day basis 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and experience in technical writing, research, and documentation. Degrees in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in relevant field 
  • Proficient in google suite of products and collaboration tools 
  • An understanding of how government operates and which agencies and/or groups have the authority to issue policy 
  • An understanding of government agencies, policies, and laws Information Technology 
  • Excellent technical writing skills including research and policy documentation 
  • Familiarity with a wide range of different emerging technologies 
  • Hard working, self-motivated individual who is comfortable handling ambiguity and able to successfully complete tasks within deadlines with limited supervision 
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize information to draw accurate, logical, and actionable conclusions
