Job Description Summary:
PayPal is seeking an experienced Employee Central Specialist to support its annual rewards and bonus cycle and other operational activities associated with the life cycle of an employee. Employee Central is a global organization focused on supporting employees and managers with their overall HR Operational needs. This position is responsible for supporting and representing HR Employee Central on all rewards cycles as an Employee Central specialist - including requirements analysis, testing, reporting, audit, pending transactions/error handling, manual letter generation/maintenance, letter archiving, communication and coordination with various business partners. Duties also include performing audits and making corrections before, during, and after execution of a rewards cycle in Workday. In addition, the incumbent will resolve complex and/or escalated employee life cycle inquiries and issues, organization management (OM) requests, position management (PM) inquiries from Employees, Managers, Centers of Expertise (COE) (e.g. Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, etc.), HR Business Partners (HRBP's), and Vendors. The role is also responsible for monitoring the support provided to PayPal employees and managers by the various stakeholders relative to established service level agreements (SLA's) and key performance indicators (KPI's.).

The Role

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping HR deliver best-in-class services to the Human Resources, Managers, Employees and the Business enterprise. Success in this position will require the development of an extensive internal network, both within and beyond the HR function and an ability to work well with and through others to effectively execute. The successful candidate will navigate easily between both strategic projects/initiatives and hands-on items on the to-do list, serving not only as a thought partner to the HR operational partners but also as a representative for Employee Central on projects for critical business and operational initiatives.
Role complexity
- Contribute to and Represent Employee Central in execution of the annual rewards cycle - understands complex processes and offers solutions for problems, maintain quality of the process
- Combine functional knowledge and technical expertise
- Resolves escalations for various Centers of Excellence (Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Global Talent Acquisition, etc.)
- Establishes processes to maintain and change data in various systems
- Operates in and fosters a continuous improvement environment
- Demonstrates leadership and best practice
- Train new hires and current agents on all processes when necessary
Team / Project Management
- Running a Compensation cycle can be complex and requires careful planning and execution. The Employee Central Expert is a fundamental part of the team composed by People Technology, Rewards Partners, HRBPs, Payroll, GTA, and Legal.
- The cycles impact every employee in Paypal by processing merit increases, bonuses, promotions, and stock grants.
Vendor Management
- Leads resolution of complex global issues escalated from our Tier 1 vendor CapGemini related to rewards cycles, bonus payments, promotions and stock grants as well as general questions/issues of a technical nature
- Trains Tier 2 and Tier 1 support on rewards cycle processes and systems as required for existing staff and new hires
- Monitors and manages Tier 1 support provided to PayPal EEs and Managers to ensure we are meeting contracted KPIs
Collaboration and Business Partnership
- Lead as the EC SME for rewards cycle and resolves all escalations for all OM, PM and employee data management
- Auditing, analyzing, and maintaining the overall quality of data in the various systems that contain employee personal and work information, i.e. Workday, Salesforce
- Developing and maintaining process documentation
- Communicates changes applicable to HR processes and technology
- Support/Lead ongoing projects and initiatives that are aligned to the broader goals and priorities of the HR Function intended to optimize HR processes and technology
- Liaise with business leaders, COE's, HRBP's, and vendors to support mass organization/employee data changes, Mergers & Acquisitions, Ongoing Performance & Rewards cycles, Organizational Restructuring, and Reporting
- The successful candidate will be adept at working cross functionally with the broader PayPal HR team, business leaders, HRBP's, COE's, vendors, and other key partners to ensure consistency and accuracy of employee data, adherence to designed processes and technology, and risk and compliance mitigation while anchoring to the idea of the customer being at the core of what we do and/or are solving for
- Data Steward-combine HR functional knowledge with technical expertise of HR systems to drive process and technology efficiencies and best practices to ensure integrity of all entrusted employee data
- Serves as an escalation point for HRBP, COE and/or Vendor related inquiries
- Support/Lead PayPal HR team projects and initiatives of varying complexity, importance, and priority
- Provides guidance and establishes/measures SLA's and/or expectations with participant team members and stakeholders (internal/external) that support PayPal employee life-cycle processes
- Configures, analyzes, and interprets reports and spreadsheets to build data files that require data manipulation and validation and can recognizes patterns and anomalies in data to spot potential data integrity issues in an effort mitigate data discrepancies and minimize redundant process steps through continuous improvements to processes and technology
- Demonstrates peer leadership in establishing data integrity and auditing best practice through maintaining and creating process documents, training materials, and work instructions that ensure that data management methodologies deliver high quality data
- Understands SOX and other governance requirements and can execute within controls to ensure data standards and quality
- Combine HR functional knowledge with strong technical expertise of HR systems to drive process and technology efficiencies, best practices, to ensure the integrity of all employee data

Requisite Experience
- 4-6 years relevant work experience in an HR shared service center
- 3+ years of experience in working with data in a relational database, Workday experience highly preferred
- 3+ years of analytical work with auditing experience
- Project leader/management experience preferred
- Report/Query writing experience preferred
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Degree or certificate in HR or related preferred
