Position Overview
The Employee Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing and supporting employee communication initiatives aligned with Autodesk's business strategy, the People and Places strategic intent, and the PPL Go-to-Market goals and organizational priorities. The person in this role influences members of the Employee Communications and Go-to-Market teams, and at times, project members and others within PPL. The person in this role works closely with the Employee Communications team to execute communication strategies, typically working on one communications project at a time alongside another member of the team, collaborating with team members to ensure clear and effective messaging across various projects and programs, and contributing to the overall success of communication efforts. They demonstrate proactivity, curiosity, and an eagerness to learn and contribute to projects and assignments supporting the overarching objectives of the Go-to-Market team and PPL organization. This role is focused on 15% strategy, 55% execution, and 35% reacting to the unexpected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communication Execution:
- Assist in the execution of employee communication campaigns by contributing to the creation and editing of communication materials.
- Support the timely implementation of communication projects as assigned by the Employee Communications / Go-to-Market leadership.
- Participate in developing communication campaign materials for various Autodesk/PPL programs.
- Collaborate with fellow communicators or agency partners on projects as needed.
- All-Autodesk Communications:
- Identify opportunities to advance Autodesk's Employee Value Proposition through compelling storytelling that aligns with business objectives.
- Devote around 20% of time to reviewing and contributing to companywide news reviews, ensuring adherence to communication standards.
- Engaged and Curious:
- Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability by seeking ways to improve communication strategies for assigned programs.
- Detail oriented and demonstrates the ability to draft communication proposals based on limited information.
- Participate in retrospectives to identify areas for improvement in communication projects, sharing recommendations with the Employee Communications team.
- Provide team operational support, including content creation, maintaining Employee Communications materials and knowledge archive.
- Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including project sponsors and team members, to draft and edit effective communication pieces.
- Maintenance of Employee Communications editorial calendars.
- Assist with tasks related to Autodesk SharePoint sites, Slack channels, and other internal communication platforms.
- One Autodesk:
- Partner with colleagues to optimize communication processes within the team.
- Present problems or challenges to team members and leaders, offering potential solutions.
- Strive to understand and align with the mission and vision of Employee Communications, Go-to-Market, PPL, and Autodesk.
- Seek opportunities to develop personal skills and knowledge in the field.
- Focuses on initiatives lasting approximately one month with manager oversight.
Requirements
- Bachelors in marketing, Communications, or English; Masters preferred.
- Strong verbal and written skills required in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, sharepoint).
- Experience creating and editing video and digital content.
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to working in a global and multi-cultural environment.
- Experience with project management is a plus.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud products (Photoshop, Illustrator) is a plus.
