Job Summary
The MycoWorks Culture team is seeking a dynamic and resourceful Employee Engagement and Outreach Partner to lead (1) internal employee engagement programs and event production, and (2) external community outreach programs and event management. The Employee Engagement and Outreach Partner will help develop, manage, and promote MycoWorks’ employer brand within the South Carolina Upstate area (Union, Spartanburg, Greenville, Anderson, Pickens, Oconee, Greenwood, Laurens, Cherokee, Abbeville) to drive employee engagement and recruitment efforts and build our local presence.Â
The Employee Engagement and Outreach Partner will help develop our employer brand experience to support consistent, positive, and targeted engagement with our employees and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is an inclusive, social, high-performance project leader with excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), who practices employee-focused experience design to create an engaging and inspiring work culture.
This is a non-exempt position with the expectation that the team member is available to work on-site in Union.
Responsibilities:
- Own the design, production, coordination and documentation of regional company engagement events and programs in partnership with People and Culture team members.Â
- Lead community outreach programs, including high-visibility sponsorship events, executive speaking opportunities, recruitment and educational events, and MycoWorks employer brand events.Â
- Lead MycoWorks’ Union-based social committee, including program and event design and project management, as well as committee membership engagement and recruitment.
- Manage implementation of internal brand collateral throughout our Union offices/facilities.Â
- Partner with Internal Communications stakeholders to align messaging and communications around company and community events and updates.
- Partner with Brand Voice Manager to produce content for company newsletter and other communication channels (eg: intranet, video billboards, social media).
- Work cross-functionally with EHS, Facilities, Manufacturing and other teams to ensure all employee, neighborhood and site needs are met in relation to event design and production, and employee needs.
- Maintain SOPs for engagement programs and event production
- Lead content and experience gap analyses to determine content and experiences that are missing and should be developed.
- Partner with the Dir of Employer Brand and Engagement and People team members to support full engagement in employee surveys and reporting.
- Partner with the Chief of Culture and People team members to advance diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, including participation in, promoting engagement with and recruitment for the company’s DEI Employee Resource Group.
Qualifications:
- Two to five years or more of proven experience in effective, inclusive, and thorough design and production of employee engagement-focused events.
- Strong understanding and experience of working within the local Upstate area (Union, Spartanburg, Greenville, Anderson, Pickens, Oconee, Greenwood, Laurens, Cherokee, Abbeville) community.Â
- Adherence to budget constraints, impact targets and multiple stakeholders’ needs.
- Strong project management skills, including adherence to timelines, effective delegation, consistent reliability in delivery and high level of accountability to commitments.
- Excellent teamwork skills, including proactive questioning, information gathering and delegation.Â
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with dynamic objectives
- Proactive commitment to deepening learning and growing initiatives in support of diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.
- Ability to think creatively, strategically and pragmatically.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including relationship-building and enthusiasm for social interactions with employees at all levels
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and active listening.
- Able to give and receive feedback as a gift in support of professional and team development
- Experience in manufacturing operations is a big plus.
