I. Job Summary
The Employee Experience Coordinator will support all activities within the Employee Experience team, including culture and engagement programming, inclusion, equity, and diversity initiatives, volunteerism, and employee recognition. The coordinator will report directly to the Senior Manager, Employee Experience, and will work closely with team members to elevate WM's ability to propel engagement for our programs.
II. Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned.
- Assist with setting up and scheduling enterprise-wide events (on-site and virtual)
- Support registration set up, tracking and reporting.
- Coordinate and schedule keynote speakers.
- Reserve conference rooms/space for meetings and key programs
- Work with vendors to secure supplies and SWAG.
- Build a sense of community and amplify employee recognition.
- Support People programming to recognize new hires, birthdays, achievements, etc.
- Help with the execution of monthly, cultural observances.
- Collaborate on communications efforts to share IED + Social Impact efforts and initiatives.
- Draft communications - email, social copy, calendar invite copy.
- Create invites and QR codes for internal programming.
- Conduct research to inform current and future program initiatives.
- Benchmark, Culture & Engagement, IED best practices
- Track and monitor key performance indicators for relative programs.
- Develop surveys and pull results/reports.
- Manage data collection and analysis to measure social impact, business growth and effectiveness of programs.
- Participate as an active member of one or more cross-functional special project teams.
- Assist with Employee Volunteer Program logistics.
Provide other universal support, including:
- Assist with creating POs.
- Prepare expense reports for large events.
- Partner with Facilities and Vendors.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
This job will not require any supervision of other WM employees or third-party workers.
IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
Education: Bachelors Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant experience.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in project management (in addition to education experience).
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
None required.
C. Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
- Strong project management capabilities.
- Self-motivated, self-starter, with comfort working in teams.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to meet deadlines and anticipate obstacles.
- Data analysis and assessment abilities.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, attention to detail and strong follow-through.
- Ability to think strategically and translate concepts into actionable items.
- Innovative mindset identifying new ways to solve work problems resulting in unique/differentiated solutions.
- SharePoint experience.

- Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the workday.
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 30 pounds, part of the workday, rarely.
- Normal setting for this job is a remote or hybrid 3 days a week for candidates located in Houston, TX.
