POSITION PROFILE

The Employee Relations Associate is a member of the Employee Relations Team responsible for conducting thorough workplace investigations in order to resolve minor employee issues. The Employee Relations Associate will provide basic advice, consultation, and guidance to create sustainable solutions on employee-related matters. To accomplish this, the Employee Relations Associate must have a basic knowledge of workplace complaint investigations, employee advocacy, and EEO compliance.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • First point of contact for employees with employee complaints
  • Monitor 844-RICOH-HR line on a daily basis handling basic case intake.
  • Handle cases as assigned and from any source such as askHR, 844-RICOH-HR, The Network,etc.
  • Investigate minor claims of alleged violation of employment laws, company and/or ethics policy.
  • Assume ownership for investigative case assignments and monitor the status and progress of all matters in the case management system
  • Document investigation findings in keeping with best practices to minimize risk and litigation in employee relations situations
  • Interprets policies and procedures while working toward a resolution
  • Facilitates collaborative problem solving strategies to resolve complaints

  • Influence, coach, and problem solve when necessary to ensure appropriate and consistent application of policy/procedures and uniform treatment of employees as part of investigation
  • Manages and solves basic investigations in a variety of business lines and across geography
  • Ensures investigations are completed in a timely manner and that post investigation actions are concluded
  • Provides on-going feedback to Mgr, Consultant, Employee Relations and/or Dir, Employee Relations on issues
  • Provide coaching and counseling on workplace issues, consistent with policies and past practices, including, when necessary, performance management and terminations
  • May handle certain administrative tasks as assigned
  • Partner and drive Diversity - CSR activities and initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years overall Human Resource experience including related school work, internships or work experience
  • Must have a proven track record of relationship building with both internal and external customers
