About the Role
The Employee Relations Coordinator acts as a primary contact for employee relations for the Flexer population. Responsible for upholding consistent standards and responsibilities in Flexer Experience. Routinely interacts with Flexers, internal Flex teams and customers as required and meets or exceeds expectations in professionalism, relationship building and responsiveness.
Requirements
- Manage the employee complaint process by routinely monitoring and responding to shared inbox as well as Salesforce employee relations queue. Resolves cases as received, monitors ongoing cases, and escalates cases as required.
- Documents employee relations concerns as well as investigations in the system of record. Maintains files related to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, and harassment and discrimination allegations.
- Responsible for conducting detailed investigations of complex employee relations issues and determining the resolution process that is in alignment with Staffmark policies as well as all applicable laws.
- Leads the investigation process by reviewing written statements and interviews and providing guidance to complete a full and thorough investigation, including collecting and reviewing relevant materials and providing the final determination as well as disciplinary actions.
- Responds promptly to all employee inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
- Responsible for escalations from the Flexer Support and Flexer Experience teams.
- Participates in the worker's compensation process by collecting relevant information and partnering with Corporate Insurance on behalf of Flexers.
- Serves as a Flexer liaison through established standards of communication.
- Partners with various departments to review and resolve employee concerns following established investigation methods. Evaluates and resolve employee relations issues by providing recommendations and guidance to field employees/field management.
- Works with Corporate Risk to support Flexers through their workers' compensation process. This includes acting as a resource but also collecting information on behalf of the Corporate Risk team both when the claim is initiated and throughout the life cycle of the claim.
- Escalates issues to leadership based on the nature, seriousness, and scope of the issue.
- Serves as the primary advocate for individual Flexers by knowing and understanding issues, facilitating problem-solving to address concerns, and ensuring positive employee relations by balancing both company and employee perspectives.
- Provides guidance to employees regarding company policy, procedures, regulations, and need for compliance.
- Completes employment verification requests for Flexer employees.
- Ensures compliance with Federal and State Equal Opportunity Laws including but not limited to Title VII, ADEA, ADA, EPA, etc.
- Assists with EEO, ADA, FLSA, and other legal issues when requested.
- Provides information as requested on a variety of Human Resources issues impacting the Flexer population.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous customer service experience and general knowledge of Human Resources functions.
- Associates degree or equivalent experience, or two years of recruitment experience.
- Prior Technical or Professional Staffing industry experience is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to professionally handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Basic understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Ability to handle high pressure environments without becoming stressed.
- Adaptable in changing situations.
- Warm and agreeable interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively listen.
- Ability to easily build coalitions, earn the trust of others and encourage teamwork.
- Ability to be proactive and reactive in problem solving.
- Proficient in the use of Google suite of products as well as a variety of technical platforms and applications.
