Employee Relations Specialist
Job Description
Resource Innovations is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist. As an Employee Relations Specialist with Resource Innovations, you will be a pivotal figure in creating and maintaining a best-in-class work environment for our employees. You will be primarily responsible for conducting thorough employee relations investigations, ensuring adherence to labor laws and regulations, and promoting open communication and collaboration throughout the process. Your expertise in conducting fair and objective investigations will be instrumental in resolving complex employee issues.

Duties & Responsibilities
Employee Relations Investigations:
- Lead and conduct in-depth investigations into employee complaints, allegations, or misconduct, ensuring objectivity, confidentiality, and fairness.
- Gather evidence, interview witnesses, and analyze findings to determine the root causes of issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Prepare comprehensive investigative reports with clear findings and actionable recommendations for management.
Employee Engagement and Resolution:
- Work closely with HR and management to address and resolve employee issues, applying insights from investigations.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance conflict resolution skills and promote a respectful workplace culture.
- Assist in facilitating discussions and mediations between employees and management to achieve positive outcomes.
Leave Management:
- Serves as the in-house contact for employee absences and all leave requests while working closely with our third-party vendor, for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Educates employees on leave processes and procedures; ensures compliance with all State and Federal laws as it relates to FMLA, ADA, Short-term and Long-term Disability and other leave and accommodation issues.
- Provides information, advice, training, and counsel to management, and employees regarding leaves and coinciding employee relations matters; serves as facilitator when appropriate.
HR Policy and Compliance:
- Stay abreast of evolving employment laws and regulations, ensuring that company policies and practices are compliant.
- Collaborate with legal counsel when necessary and assist in the development and revision of HR policies and procedures.
- Conduct periodic audits to assess HR practices and ensure consistency and fairness.
Communication and Reporting:
- Communicate investigation findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders, including senior management and legal counsel.
- Maintain accurate records of investigations and outcomes to support decision-making and legal compliance.
- Collaborate with HR and leadership to implement preventive measures based on investigation outcomes.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in HR, with a substantial focus on employee relations investigations.
- Proven knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to conduct sensitive and unbiased investigations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR) is advantageous.
