Employee Relations Specialist

Human Interest is looking for an Employee Relations Specialist to join our People team! This role will play a pivotal role in ensuring that workplace concerns are investigated and addressed promptly and fairly, in compliance with relevant laws, policies, and procedures. They will also consult on HR policies and best practices ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.Â

As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and resolving workplace concerns, addressing ethics line reports, leading employment-related investigations, and promoting best practices in employee relations. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Develop effective relationships with team members and business leaders to promote positive employee relations throughout the organizationÂ
- Investigate employee concerns to ensure they are addressed promptly and resolved fairly, in accordance with relevant laws, company policies, and procedures
- Create and update HR policies and procedures and recommend best practices Â
- Analyze employee relations trends with leadership and help develop proactive strategies, solutions, programs and policies
- Be a resource and act as a liaison for navigating complex employee relation matters
- Collaborate with the People and Legal teams to ensure that issues are handled prudently while minimizing risk to the organization
What you bring to the role
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in employee relations, HR compliance, or a related role.
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and fairness.
- Proven track record of working effectively and autonomously in a start-up environment.

Compensation - At Human Interest, there are a number of factors that are used to determine the appropriate pay range for each position. We take into account the cost of labor for each position in various markets across the US. The base salary for this position spans $100,000 - $115,000 and represents the minimum in our lowest geographic region to a maximum in our highest geographic region. The salary that we offer to a new employee within this range is based on their location within the US, their relevant job-related skills, and experience. At Human Interest, base salary is one component of the overall Total Rewards package. Depending on the position, additional compensation components such as bonus, commission, and equity may be offered.
