Employment Counsel (Fixed Term)

Fixed-term contract: One year
HubSpot is looking for an experienced employment lawyer to provide a key role on the HubSpot Legal Team. This role will be based in Ireland and will be remote eligible. Your focus will be primarily supporting our EMEA offices in Ireland Germany France Spain Belgium the Netherlands and the UK however you will provide support across all of our offices globally. In this role you will report to our Lead EMEA Employment Counsel based in Ireland and work with our wider Legal and cross-functional teams.
In this role you’ll get to:

Serve as a trusted advisor to PeopleOps (which includes Human Resources Recruiting and a variety of other teams) and key business stakeholders in all areas of employment law

Provide proactive risk counseling to global stakeholders on all issues concerning the employment relationship including hiring and termination employee relations working time performance management compensation and benefits leaves of absence disability accommodations and internal investigations

Partner with PeopleOps on internal investigations into employee relations matters including discrimination bullying and harassment

Develop and implement global templates policies and procedures and create customized trainings in various subject matters

Keep current on developments in employment laws affecting our employees in a variety of locations and assist in implementing compliance with the same

Manage potential and active employment litigation including participating in fact development assisting with discovery issues managing outside counsel and developing strategy

Work with other key stakeholders on a variety of legal processes as needed
We are looking for people who:

Are qualified to practice law in Ireland
-
Have substantial experience practicing employment law and are comfortable working autonomously

Are able to handle a broad range of legal employment matters and work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced demanding and transparent environment

Are able to make decisions and provide advice/explain the rationale for the decision to a curious and empowered team

Develop strong relationships based on trust with team members

Possess strong communication skills especially via email Slack and Zoom

Have superior organizational skills

Want to learn quickly

Have fluency in English
