This role sits within a fast-growing global legal environment supporting a rapidly scaling technology organization operating across multiple international markets. You will act as a key advisor on employment law matters across Germany and the broader EMEA region, helping shape compliant, scalable, and business-oriented HR practices. The position involves close collaboration with HR, legal, finance, and senior leadership teams to navigate complex workforce topics in a high-growth setting. You will contribute to both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operational employment matters, ensuring legal risks are effectively managed. The environment is fast-paced, international, and highly collaborative, requiring strong judgment and adaptability. This is an opportunity to influence how employment frameworks evolve in a company experiencing significant global expansion.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide practical legal advice on a wide range of employment law matters, including hiring, performance management, terminations, benefits, and employee relations issues.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, severance packages, NDAs, and other HR-related legal documents.
  • Develop, implement, and update internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local German and broader EMEA labor regulations.
  • Support disciplinary actions, workplace investigations, grievances, and ensure consistent and fair employee treatment.
  • Partner with HR and cross-functional teams to mitigate legal risks and support workforce-related initiatives and projects.
  • Advise on employment law aspects of restructuring, incentive programs, IP protection, confidentiality matters, and M&A transactions, including due diligence and integration.
  • Manage employment litigation and disputes, including administrative claims, mediations, and government audits.
  • Oversee and coordinate external legal counsel across Germany and EMEA jurisdictions.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes in employment law and ensure timely internal updates and compliance readiness.
  • Requirements:

    • Qualified and licensed attorney in Germany.
    • At least 5 years of experience as in-house counsel, preferably within a high-growth technology or international company.
    • Strong expertise in German and international employment law, with additional exposure to contract, commercial, and data protection matters.
    • Proven experience handling employment-related litigation such as dismissal disputes or discrimination claims.
    • Familiarity with M&A transactions and associated employment law considerations.
    • Experience advising on cross-border employment matters, particularly across the EMEA region.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal topics into clear business guidance.
    • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and sound judgment in fast-moving environments.
    • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate with high accountability and minimal supervision.
    • Adaptable mindset with the ability to prioritize and respond quickly in a dynamic, high-growth organization.
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive compensation package aligned with experience and market standards.
      • Flexible working arrangements with remote and hybrid options.
      • Opportunity to work in a high-growth, international, and innovative tech environment.
      • Exposure to complex cross-border legal matters and strategic projects.
      • Strong focus on professional development and continuous learning.
      • Collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.
      • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits depending on location.
