Our Main Campus is looking to add an EMS Education Manager to their dedicated team of caregivers. This role will help the Cleveland Clinic to establish itself as the preeminent provider of prehospital care in North America. You will be managing the clinical, administrative, and academic requirements of Emergency Medicine Services (EMS) education activities and programs across the Cleveland Clinic Enterprise.

Our ideal future caregiver is someone who: • Has 5 years of experience designing and delivering educational content geared to nurses and or paramedics. • Is up to date with current paramedic science and educational tools. • Has experience developing and deploying material via online learning management systems. • Has excellent communication skills.

This role is hybrid allowing you to work from home on an as needed basis. In this role, continuing education is encouraged as we hope for the ideal caregiver to progress their career here within management and leadership positions.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with affiliated education institutions and CCF clinical directors.
  • Coordinate with CCF physician subject matter experts and work with them to provide high-quality, enterprise-wide education pertinent to EMS.
  • Develop marketing tools to inform EMS providers of the available continuing education offerings.
  • Collaborate with Cleveland Clinic EMS medical directors to develop and disseminate high-quality, standardized educational materials to EMS coordinators for the purpose of educating both ED nursing and EMS prehospital providers.
  • Develop and standardize learning modules for EMS and ED nursing personnel.
  • Develop and maintain virtual learning platforms to provide standardized EMS education across the enterprise.
  • Ensure consistency with the standards and guidelines set forth by professional and accreditation boards in regards to structure, academic standards, record-keeping, and the evaluation process.
  • Prepare re-accreditation documents for appropriate state and national governing agencies.
  • Seek out and incorporate new and upcoming educational technology into continuing education offerings.
  • Oversee and develop preceptor training for all clinical and field preceptors.
  • Oversee and direct the maintenance of continuing education records and issue annual reports on the educational system's performance.
  • Direct and oversee training equipment selection, acquisition, distribution, use, and maintenance.
  • Instruct American Heart Association courses as needed to meet the needs of the enterprise.
  • Oversee the performance of Cleveland Clinic EMS Institute EMS educators and provide training designed to improve their ability to deliver educational content.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, or Paramedic with Bachelor's degree in education, science, or healthcare related field required.
  • Master's degree in nursing or education preferred.

Languages:

  • English Required

Certifications:

  • Current state licensure as registered nurse or current state certification as paramedic required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
  • Candidates must obtain instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ITLS within one year of hire.
  • EMS Instructor (or become EMS-I within one year of hiring) required.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be fluent with online and virtual learning platforms.
  • Ability to communicate with physicians, nurses, and EMS providers.
  • Thorough knowledge of emergency medicine pathology, diagnostics, procedures, and treatments.

Work Experience:

  • 5 years' experience in education environment.
  • 5 years' experience as a registered nurse or paramedic.
  • Leadership at the institutional or hospital level preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands include the ability to perform functions of the job while reaching and stretching, and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions of the job.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
