The Role

Provides technical support to business area management and staffs for personal computer systems software, hardware and network connectivity. Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations and network connectivity issues. May assign and maintain user passwords for specialized software.

Responsibilities of this position include supporting the engineering/planning/construction teams as a support liaison between Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) and General Dynamics Electric Boat (GDEB). This will entail troubleshooting Hardware/Software/Process issues at NNS and resolving locally, or with NNS Information Technology (NNS IT) or the GDEB IT Provider. Support the Product Lifecycle Management Governance Board. Work with Key Stakeholders at NNS to assist in implementing a Drawingless Plan and Approach through the Integrated Digital Shipbuilding (iDS) Team.

Some travel will be required and requires the ability to obtain and retain specific security clearances

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience.

One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only:

• NNS Apprentice School graduate
• Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
• Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
• Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
• High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
• High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
• A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Nice to Have

Analytical/troubleshooting/problem solving skills

Knowledge and skills in CAD and data management tools, ideally CITRIX, SharePoint, Teamcenter Unified, and Teamcenter NX

Experience in production, overhaul or fleet support

Plus experience with design, collaboration and visualization tools
