Your Role and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be the energy coordinator for the Bromont plant as well as other IBM buildings across Canada. The main responsibilities are as follows:
- Identify energy saving ideas by working closely with the engineering team and building operations and key manufacturing players to meet the local energy conservation objective.
- Contribute to energy-related corporate objectives (consumption reduction greenhouse gas reduction …).
- Document energy conservation projects carried out in the corporate tool Envizi.
- Realize follow-up with building groups and manufacturing sectors to optimize energy consumption.
- Share expertise with other sites IBM.
- Identify potential incentives and provide support to obtain them.
- Coordinate the completion of the energy audit listings.
- Plan and track the budget for energy expenditures.
- Assess and implement the best strategies for electricity and natural gas supply.
- Assess and implement changes to energy efficiency legislation and regulations.
- Manager of the Energy Management Program (ISO 50001).
- Provide energy program training to internal players and communicate energy policy.
- Participate in environmental awareness activities.
- Ensure that corporate requirements are met in project implementation.
- Validate savings related to the implementation of an energy savings project and ensure compliance with the contractual agreement.
- Coordinate the energy team for non-Bromont Canadian sites.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 3 years experience in energy field.
- Knowledge of building mechanical systems and their operating principles.
- Leadership.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bilingual French/English written and spoken.
- CEM (Certified Energy Manager) and CMVP (Certified Measurement and Verification Professional).
- OIQ member.
