Engagement Managers at Excella possess a variety of project management skills and manage projects of different sizes and objectives. EM’s take an Agile approach where possible, focusing on high-value activities, interacting frequently with customers and stakeholders, and being flexible and adaptive; they work collaboratively, are highly accountable for their team’s work, and take responsibility for their client’s success. They coordinate delivery of work products, coordinate project planning activities, and track progress and risk. They perform the analysis, review, development, test and inspection of business process improvement, program management, solution implementation and strategic re-engineering efforts. They apply broad management skills and business expertise to lead complex, large projects in delivering client solutions or to manage the operations of multiple Excella projects. They work with client executives to facilitate organizational change and lead clients through business transformation efforts.
Responsibilities:Delivery Leadership and Program Management
Our Engagement Managers are required to perform the following activities (among others):
- Manage multiple, complex accounts that may have different mission priorities.
- Maintain successful performance of all engagements measured by client retention, revenue retention, revenue growth, and gross margins.
- Continuously monitor Excellian engagement, plans for succession, and rotations in coordination with People Services.
- Ensure client satisfaction and delivery excellence as measured by client GPA, CPAR ratings, retention, and growth.
- Provide project management support activities including project planning, project scheduling, and status reporting
- Coordinate development of new systems and / or applications
- Provide programmatic recommendations to clients and stakeholders
- Liaise between various stakeholder groups
- Prepare and present briefing materials and reports
- Provide IT Subject Matter Expertise
People Leadership
- Drive Excellian engagement and support the Exceptional Career through people leadership, performance management, and career development.
- Maintain a workforce plan for engagements that includes recruitment, talent, and succession plans
- Identify and staff vacancies engagements through coordination with CTIO and People Services.
Business Development
- Coordinate marketing and business development efforts to win business with target accounts.
- Establishes and maintains strategic relationships with clients, contracting officers, and partners (existing and prospective)
- Identify opportunities where others (i.e., Marketing or Innovation) can support engagements and leverage their services to strengthen engagements.
- 10+ years of experience
- Experience with the Federal Government, Federal PMO experience is a plus
- Experience with one or more of the following areas: acquisition program management, budget and financial management, capital planning and investment control, configuration management, earned value management, enterprise architecture, performance measures and metrics, project management, risk management
- Experience with IT project management methodologies (Agile Methodology)
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation
- Strong analytical aptitude, and ability to structure and quantify complex or undefined business problems
- Ability to interact with senior level clients
