Pratt & Whitney Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engines. EDSI is responsible for overall engine system definition and management. This includes engine performance, operability, system level modeling and simulation, validation and verification of performance and operability requirements, and functional engine and air vehicle systems integration. EDSI also defines engine architecture, system and structural design as well as manages all requirements across the program.

This posting is for a System Analysis Specialist in the EDSI organization supporting an advanced military program. The EDSI Systems Analysis role supports the EDSIT and SIPT.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preform technical tasks related to performance / modeling / operability.
• Perform engine test data analysis, including data reduction; component and system performance evaluation; and model updates leading to a data matched model.
• Partners with engineering disciplines to achieve engine system-level performance requirements (thrust, fuel burn, time on wing) for future engine cycle.
• Perform trade studies on hardware and software changes to achieve performance & operability requirements.
• Analysis engine configurations that best meet customer requirements while balancing cost and risk; defining component-level requirements to the engineering design teams.
• Work with CIPTs and EDSIT to quantify impacts of proposed design changes and make recommendations arriving at an optimal system solution.
• Manage NPSS model updates through the CR life cycle.
• Gather requirements and implement into performance table for future program design activity.
• Prepare and present results to EDSIT and SIPT.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers.
• This position is highly inter-disciplinary and collaborative, requiring excellent communication skills.
• Potential travel for test coverage.
• Off shift support required when at test.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years' of experience.
• U.S. Citizenship due to government contracts,

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years' of experience with propulsion system design.
• Active US Government security clearance or able to obtain / maintain US Government security.
• Demonstrated strong problem-solving, teamwork and leadership skills.
• A track record of delivering results in a cross-functional team environment.
• The ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of management is critical.
• Performance and operability experience.
• Expertise with Unigraph, NPSS (including PDR) and iSight.
• Knowledge of control logic and control schedules generation.
• Experience in managing internal and external customers.
