Engineer 1 Systems (Intern Conversion)

This role is responsible for applying entry-level knowledge of engineering principles and practices in systems engineering to support NPD, sustaining, and productivity designs that have limited complexity. This role will be heavily involved in testing and troubleshooting product system designs in support of new product development projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior product, systems, mechanical, electrical, firmware, regulatory and test engineering to understand and document design intent in the context of real world applications; write technical documentation such as product specifications to support project deliverables
- Create basic system diagrams to document connectivity and data flow
- Review prototype Cloud and product systems and note issues in an Agile development tool
- Provide input to core team member in support for covered portion of projects.
- Use technical documentation like specifications and test reports to support project deliverables.
- Responsible for complying with the security requirements set forth by the Information Security team and the established ISO 27001 Security Roles, Responsibilities, and Authorities Document found in the ISMS Document Library
- Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
- Protect Chamberlain Group's reputation by keeping information confidential.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or software engineering strongly preferred; or minimum of four (4) years of job-related experience as defined in the Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Able to travel up to 10% - domestically and internationally
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Intern or co-op experience in systems engineering or new product development for IoT product; experience with networked systems; experience with wireless communication standards like WiFi or Bluetooth.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work within cross-functional teams to create electromechanical products; strong analytical skills; effective communication skills; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
