Engineer

Summary

This role provides technical expertise to support the efforts of the company to meet the business needs by guiding and directing internal and external resources in various design projects while maintaining compliance with all employee safety, food safety, environmental, and quality standards. Responsibilities include leading and supervising a team of engineers that develop, test, modify and create solutions to technical issues. In addition, this role may be required to provide technical support to plant operating and maintenance departments to develop technical solutions to replace or upgrade process and utility equipment at both new and existing facilities. This position will be involved in capital projects with budgets upwards of $100MM.

Key Responsibilities

• Assesses and aligns with key stakeholders on the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products, or equipment solutions.
• Responsible for collecting field data, analyzing, and collaborating with design, operations, and maintenance teams on viable technical solutions.
• Review, approve, or modify technical design information including such items as PIDs, layout drawings, vendor submittals, technical specifications, etc.
• Leads and is accountable for the development of technical solutions or process upgrades that meets the business objectives for a variety of projects
• May lead the development of new or modified components, products, manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment that meet the business objectives within the budget and schedule constraints for each project.
• Leads/guides teams in establishing the appropriate designs, engineering and execution processes. Responsible for leading the communication of project updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
• Responsible for preparing and gaining alignment on engineering proposals, feasibility studies and vendor/construction packages.
• Responsible for field verifying the intent of the design and technical solution is successfully implemented in the field during construction and installation.

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.S. in Engineering) from 4 year college or university required

Relevant Experience

• 10+ years related experience and/or training
• Food industry experience preferred
