This position reports to Monroe Aftermarket Shocks and Struts Engineering in Monroe, MI. The responsibilities of the person in this position include, but are not limited to
- Design and develop suspension conversion kits including PPAP and detailed instruction sheets.
- Utilize CAD drawings in SAP to find proper shocks, mounts, springs, etc. for conversion kits.
- Develop parts if there are no existing parts that will work.
- Take photos of installation of conversion kit to use in installation instructions that will be included in the kit.
- Ride audit vehicles after completion of installation to ensure ride quality, fitment, ride height, etc. is acceptable.
- Compile all information needed for release in an ECM in SAP.
- Work side by side with purchasing team in some cases to obtain conversion kit components.
- Complete PPAP process to verify final components/kit from plant level are correct.
- Assist in joint engineering-manufacturing projects associated with product-process changes and improvement.
- Identify and implement CLI opportunities to improve functionality and/or opportunities for cost reduction without decreasing the integrity of the part.

Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in testing, failure analysis, or automotive
- Ability to travel to suppliers, plants, and customer locations to support customer requirements
- Proficiency with PC applications including spreadsheets, word processors, databases, presentation and flow charting software
- Knowledge of CAD and computer based engineering tools
- Ability to function and lead in a team environment
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems and opportunities, develop plans and successfully implement solutions
