The ATE Group located in Wilmington, MA is currently seeking a motivated Analog/Digital Design Engineer for the IC development of new products. Products in this strategy are comprised of integrated high speed and precision signal chains targeted towards Automated Test Equipment (ATE) applications. Product designs utilize both advanced internal 0.18um BiCMOS SiGe processes as well as standard 0.18um CMOS processes and fine line CMOS processes. These designs are then combined on a laminate package to provide our top tier customers with a custom SIP (System In a Package) solution otherwise known as a chiplet.

The candidate's responsibilities will include transistor level schematic design and simulation of mixed signal circuits including high speed drivers and receivers, DACs, opamps and references. Assisting in the system architecture design will also be necessary to ensure designs operate functionally between blocks. Duties also include working with evaluation engineers to compare and contrast simulation and lab results. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual and fast learner with strong technical, analytical and communication skills. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn high speed design techniques, gain system level design experience, work with newly developed internal BiCMOS processes and collaborate closely with an experienced development team.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design of analog/digital circuits including high-speed drivers and receivers as well as precision circuits including PPMUs and voltage references.
  • Simulation at the transistor circuit level with internal Spice tools
  • Verification of top level system designs with Verilog and co-simulation tools
  • Collaboration with the ATE design team to determine implementation of requirements at the system level
  • Participate in customer collaboration to determine product architecture needs
  • Work closely with evaluation engineers when silicon arrives to compare and contrast simulation results including eye diagrams, jitter and timing accuracies
  • Preparation and presentation of design review documentation packages

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in Digital or Analog Bipolar Circuit Design a plus
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Knowledge of Spice simulators and CAD tools (Cadence Virtuoso).
  • Knowledge of Verilog and/or System level verification tools
  • Ability to problem solve at the transistor and system levels
  • Knowledge of lab equipment including digital oscilloscopes, source generators and BER testers
  • Good presentation and writing/communication skills.
