THE ROLE: Associate Engineer

Job Summary:

The Associate Network Engineer is responsible for providing technical support on project-based work, which will include planning, design, and delivery of LAN and WAN implementations. This individual will be part of a mentorship program to develop skills for planning, design, implementing, and supporting simple to complex LAN and WAN environments. This program will be a combination of hands on engineering, working closely with experienced engineers on ongoing projects, training for certifications, as well as collaborating in an environment that promotes learning of new technologies. Ideal candidates are ambitious and detail oriented individuals looking to advance their careers in a fast paced environment.

Travel Requirements:

In this role you will be expected to travel up to 30%. It will be based in Florida

Job Description

  • Primary responsibilities include performing project-based engineering, installation and troubleshooting of wireless/data networks
  • Working with customers and an engineering team to successfully implement wireless/data network solutions
  • LAN routing and switching configuration and deployment in small to medium environments
  • Wireless pre-installation survey, configuration and deployment in small to medium environments
  • Assist clients through planning and implementation of wireless/data communications networks
  • Develop comprehensive graphical and text-based design documentation and effectively manage the implementation process from design to customer acceptance

Job Requirements

  • Entry-level knowledge and experience with implementation and support of the following:

    • Cisco wireless networks (Aruba is a plus)
    • Demonstrate basic understanding of 802.11 protocols
    • Entry-level knowledge of open and licensed spectrum used in wireless networks
    • Wireless survey tools (Ekahau preferred)

      • Thorough understanding of survey process
      • Knowledge of predictive and physical survey techniques
    • Basic understanding of L2/L3 protocols, including: STP, PAgP, EIGRP, OSPF
    • Ability to design and support high-density, wireless voice, and high-bandwidth wireless networks
  • 1+ years of networking experience, including configuring, analyzing & troubleshooting wireless/data networks
