Responsibilities:

Responsible for establishing and maintaining the reliable operation and qualified state of the equipment, business processes, and automation systems in the area that they support. Ensure that equipment is in-control, compliant, and capable of meeting customer needs, while also driving associated continuous improvement effort.

  • Establish & monitor/trend control systems as tool for verifying and optimizing equipment performance.
  • Obtain technical expertise of equipment and processes in area of responsibility. This includes clear understanding of equipment flow, process flow document, critical process parameters, and master formula instructions for the process.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve more difficult equipment and operational problems
  • Utilize formal problem-solving techniques, including Root Cause Analysis, to resolve equipment issues.
  • Communicate effectively with others, especially process team members, customers, engineering techs, and crafts personnel.
  • Implement corrections, corrective actions, and countermeasures arising from CAPA's.
  • Understand equipment reliability issues with the objective of improvement.
  • Develop and implement PLC/HMI code changes

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering

Additional Preferences:

  • Experience in instrumentation, PLC and/or HMI programming
  • Adequate interpersonal and communications skills to be able to work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to work in a safe manner to ensure the safety of self and others.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.
  • Previous experience as a process automation engineer or process engineer is desirable.
  • Pharmaceutical experience is desirable.
  • Experience with clean-in-place, sterilize-in-place, autoclave, or parts washer systems is desirable
  • Computer System Validation experience is desirable.

Other Information:

  • 8 hour days, after-hour support.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training, conferences, etc.
