Position Summary:

Are you passionate about optimizing and automating the software development lifecycle? As a DevOps Engineer at Delta Defense LLC, you'll play a critical role in enhancing our software's reliability, uptime, security, scale, and performance.

Leverage your technical expertise and project management skills to provision Kubernetes clusters, scale databases, enhance observability, respond to incidents, and refine disaster recovery plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provision and Manage Kubernetes Clusters - Utilize Terraform to provision and manage Kubernetes clusters, ensuring seamless deployment and scaling.
  • Database Management - Create and maintain database instances, including Postgres and MySQL, to support our data-driven applications.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Maintenance - Oversee the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline our software delivery processes.
  • Helm Chart Development - Build and maintain Helm Charts for our API catalog to simplify application deployment and management.
  • Load Testing and Service Levels - Design and implement load tests, setting and monitoring service levels for our applications to ensure optimal performance.
  • Enhance Observability - Use monitoring tools like Datadog and Betterstack to enhance system observability, ensuring real-time insights into performance and health.
  • Data Analytics Facilitation - Maintain our event streaming platform, Apache Kafka, to support robust data analytics and real-time data processing.
  • Incident Response - Respond to incidents promptly, triaging, resolving, and escalating issues as needed to maintain system stability and reliability.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration - Partner with SecOps, Data Analytics, and other Engineering teams to fulfill stakeholder requests and drive collaborative success.
  • Documentation and Compliance - Maintain detailed system configurations, procedural guides, and troubleshooting documentation, ensuring all systems adhere to industry standards.
  • Additional Responsibilities - Perform all other duties as assigned to support the continuous improvement and efficiency of our operations.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • An Associate degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years experience in a DevOps Engineering role is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience working on Linux based infrastructure.
  • Exposure to containerization platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes is necessary for this role.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible.
  • Proficiency with Git and CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience maintaining Kubernetes Helm Charts is a plus.

Salary range $78,000 - $97,500 based on experience. This role is also bonus-eligible for company incentive plan.
