Your Responsibilities
As an Electrical Systems Engineer for John Deere located in Thibodaux, LA. you will,
- Specify and design electric/mechanical components for cane harvesters conventional 12V system hardware and have development responsibility for electrical hardware design including electrical components, switches, sensors, wire harnesses, etc.
- Analyze DTAC cases, define root cause and propose and implement improvements and provide problem solving of electrical issues on new product development and current production machines
- Engage in applying product verification and validation tools with PDP teams, Participate in competitor benchmarking, vehicle specification development, as well as creation and maintenance of product design guidelines
- Develop electric schematic and harness topology and work with harness design team and define power distribution and grounding concept, define power cables and connection systems.
- Collaborate with global Engineering Centers

What Skills You Need
- Electrical engineering experience performing analysis, testing and/or design work (through internships, education or practical experience)
- Experience with electrical components/systems (through relevant course work, practical work experience)
- Demonstrated effective communication (written and verbal) skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and willingness to attack emerging issues, determine root cause, and drive corrective action
- Demonstrated ability to work in self-directed manner
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% (both domestic and international)
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with electrical wire harness circuits, routing, and schematics and other electrical/electronic technical drawings
- Experience in roles that required a working knowledge of electrical components such as batteries, starters, alternators, rocker switches, relays, solenoids, sensors, actuators, and connectors
- Experience troubleshooting vehicle electrical systems
- An understanding of the interaction between software and hardware components
- Familiarity with Construction, Forestry or Ag off- road equipment
- Experience with 3D modeling tools for harness routing (such as ProE- ProCable and Mentor Graphics- Capital Harness)
- Experience with systems engineering practices
Education Details
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Systems, Computer Engineering, Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering discipline
