Engineer for Treasury Systems

As a Functional Engineer for Treasury Systems at NN Bank, you will help shape the tech landscape at a financial company undergoing an exciting digital transformation. Based in The Hague, you will use your passion for automation to support our Treasury professionals and better serve our customers.

What you are going to do

In this role, you will manage our Treasury department’s Ambit Quantum system, which records all products we trade, including bonds, deposits and derivatives. Data from this system is used across the bank to process and report transactions, including reports to external regulators. You will conduct data analysis and delivery and support the functional support team’s day-to-day operations, including system upgrades and frequent meetings with users and vendors. Other responsibilities include:

• Creating and implementing new applications and smart, secure automation solutions
• Optimising and managing applications like Ambit Quantum (FIS), Bloomberg, and SWIFT (payment systems)
• Working towards team goals and supporting everyday processes and testing for colleagues in Finance, Risk, and Treasury
• Driving continuous improvements and process automation

Who you are

You’re eager to make an impact, develop your skills in application optimisation and deepen your knowledge of treasury. You enjoy working in a collaborative environment and simplifying tasks. Your enthusiasm is infectious, you’re curious and not afraid to ask critical questions or find solutions independently. You currently reside in the Netherlands. While English is the official workplace language at NN Bank, speaking Dutch would be an advantage. Additionally, you have:

• Demonstrable experience with implementing new applications and setting up new connections, ideally in the financial industry
• Knowledge of payment processing and an affinity with treasury products like bonds, liquidity and derivatives
• Experience with FIS applications, such as Quantum and Balance Sheet Manager (Focus) and payment systems like SWIFT. Ideally, you’re also familiar with linking external systems like Bloomberg
• A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role is preferred
• A positive attitude, a readiness to hit the ground running and tackle challenges and deadlines head-on

Who you will work with

You’ll join a small, experienced team who collaborate closely within and beyond our Treasury chain. The Treasury department at NN Bank manages the bank's liquidity, interest and funding policies. Treasury is divided into a front office, an operations team and a functional support team. The latter is responsible for managing treasury-related applications, automating and optimising processes within our chain and ensuring data delivery across various organisational units.

We work hybrid, with two days in the office every week. Daily stand-ups and regular check-ins keep us connected, and bi-weekly sprints drive our data analysis, IT and application management efforts forward. Together, we’re committed to advancing our platform, Ambit Quantum (FIS) and fostering each other’s growth through continuous learning.
