Maverick operates in a hybrid work environment. If desired, the Engineer II will be allowed to work from home two days per week

What you'll do!

A Maverick Engineer performs PLC/DCS programming, troubleshooting and operational support on a variety of platforms (primarily Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, Honeywell, Foxboro, Emerson platforms) for customers in the Louisiana and Texas area.

In this role, you will design, define, implement, test and commission complex control system solutions for Maverick's customers. You may also analyze existing systems, develop functional specifications, network architecture drawings, input/output assignments, and specify working parameters proper control action/tuning. You will coordinate integration of subsystems into the primary control system, as well as identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies. You may also develop and recommend corrective actions as needed for robust and effective operation.

Principal Role, Responsibilities & Key Results Expected:
  • Provides engineering support in the process of designing, configuring, and troubleshooting of electrical, instrument and process control systems.
  • Assist in the design and development of all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery.
  • Work in a team environment under the supervision of a senior or principal engineer with the capabilities of working independently.
  • Develop control system solutions utilizing experience and back ground in process automation, controls, and instrumentation for industrial manufacturing companies.
  • May assist in the coordination of operation, maintenance, and repair of control system equipment and systems in field installations.
  • Learn and apply client and company standards and procedures; specifically Maverick's Project Complete quality system.
  • Maintains regular contact with project personnel to efficiently complete deliverables and objectives & keeps direct manager aware of project timelines & commitments.
  • Supports the development of technical scope of work and specifications for project applications.
  • Learn and maintain a high level of technical competency in current technologies, product offerings, and their application.
  • Provide information and data to project managers in the development and monitoring of projects.
  • Responsible for successful completion of both in-house and client-focused testing; adhering to predefined client and company specifications and requirements in accordance with safety standards.
  • May participate in other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Rockwell/Maverick will not sponsor individuals for this role.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites up to 30%
  • Bachelor's degree


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing industry with education in engineering and process controls
  • Professional or schooling experience with PLC's, programming and HMI's.
  • Effective organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent customer presentation skills
  • Ability to succeed within a team environment
  • Ability to apply basic theory to practical engineering applications and to provide technical guidance as needed
