Position Specific Description
Responsible for the engineering design of outside plant cable construction in aerial and underground telecommunications infrastructure and facilities, with a thorough knowledge of all issues related to local and state permitting, pole and conduit licensing procedures from utilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Position requires interaction with engineering teams, permitting agencies, and documentation of telecommunications infrastructure, with an emphasis on FTTx, wireless and OSP fiber optic cable infrastructure projects. Working knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of outside plant telecommunication designs. BICSI RCDD certification preferred. Familiar with all facets of OSP engineering, including design, quoting, and delivery. Familiarity with design and construction standards relative to fiber optics and RF systems. Experience with OSP telecommunication industry engineering processes and practices, and their impact on project activities.
