Engineer I - Hybrid

EverQuote is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our growing team! As a member of the Engineering team, you will be instrumental in delivering architecture improvements that will scale the EverQuote systems. This role is for someone who enjoys building amazing platforms that serve insurance shoppers, insurance providers, partners, and internal users alike. You will improve the relationship with all of these clients through creativity and problem-solving using a wide range of tools.

What you'll do:

• Be a core contributor to our Calls Engineering team, using API first integrations with carriers like Twilio and beyond
• Help with the development of robust, domain-centric services that meet the evolving needs of our business. 
• Define and evolve our system design and architecture in response to business needs and scale.
• Execute road mapping, planning and scoping to build toward the overall team strategy & vision.
• Carry the voice of the customer in every conversation and decision, ensuring we build world class products that our customers love and value.
• Contribute to broader, cross-cutting Engineering initiatives at EverQuote.

Who you are:

• 0-2 years experience in GoLang, Java, or other server side languages including experience at a software product company
• Have worked in a microservice based architecture and understand the basics of Docker and Kubernetes
• Passionate about non-functionals - observability, testing, performance, and security
• Able to quickly diagnose and solve code problems, as well as help others unblock themselves
• Passionate about partnering with product and design to build positive user experiences
• Have an entrepreneurial mindset, want to grow a business, and love working with a team
• Comfortable using data to support and validate your concepts

This role requires being onsite in our Cambridge office 2 days a week.
