Position Summary

Perform system verification and technical support of the 5G/4G LTE RAN network. Act as a key contributor for the 3GPP 5G and LTE products.

Role and Responsibilities

Perform system verification and technical support of the 5G/4G LTE RAN network. Act as a key contributor for the 3GPP 5G and LTE products. Responsible for the 5G and LTE System Test with emphasis on the RAN CP and OAM Features. Responsible for Samsung 5G and LTE RAN products. Work with team members to prepare test plans/cases and execute to validate RAN CP/OAM functionality. Interface proactively with Product/Technology Engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage. Responsible for analyzing the customer requirements, developing test strategy for features and functionalities, converting customer requirements into test plans and detailed test procedures. Debug issues and assist in determination of resolution to issues discovered during testing. Provide input for improvements in lab functionality, test automation, training, and lab maintenance procedures. Analyze and recommend test equipment, test methods to validate essential requirements, and interface proactively and effectively within Samsung and with customers as related to testing activities. Perform test execution and troubleshooting SW/HW issues in Samsung lab as well the customer's lab and field deployments. Adapt to changes in a dynamic business environment, support management initiatives, and guide other engineers.

Skills and Qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, a related field, or a foreign equivalent, plus two years of post-baccalaureate experience in product testing, development of Test Plan and Test Cases. Skills must include: (1) Wireless systems including PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC and PDCP layers; (2) writing, reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical journals and procedures utilizing mathematics language, non-linear communications, vectors, complex numbers and logarithms as reference; (3) 5G and 4G air interface and call processing technologies and network architecture in the Radio Access Network; (4) Hardware and Software architecture; (5) system engineering projects including technical requirements identification, technical solutions to address requirements, technical description documentation with details including parameter; (6) Hybrid Beamforming, Massive MIMO, New Waveforms, LTE-NR interworking & co-existence, and 5G Numerologies; and (7) 4G/5G LTE Call Processing including RRC, S1-MME, S1-U and X2 protocols. 10-15% domestic travel required.
