What You'll Do:

• Work with customer and team members to understand project requirements and scope.
• Perform full software life cycle functions including software requirements, architecture, design, code, test, integration, and documentation.
• Design/develop/modify software using Java, C++, Python, or C# in a Kubernetes environment.
• Develop software within the defined Agile process.
• Use a DevSecvOps software development pipeline, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve the performance of existing or new software services .
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

What You'll Need:

• Software Engineer I - BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience.
• Software Engineer II - BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 5 or more years related experience.
• Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
• A current, active Top Secret security clearance is required.
• Experience with one or more modern programing languages such as Java, Python, C++ or C#.
• Experience with agile software development processes.
• Knowledge of algorithm design and development.
• Working knowledge of microservices design and implementation and container orchestration, such as Kubernetes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with one or more commercial cloud services such as AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.
• Experience with distributed computing and large-scale systems.
• Experience with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS technologies.
• Experience with NiFi and code refactoring.
• Experience with developing software for mission management, data processing, or modeling & simulation applications.
• Experience with databases and data storage technologies including Relational databases, NoSQL databases, columnar databases, key/value stores, etc.
• Experience using DevSecOps pipelines to develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software performance.
• Proven ability writing test scripts for test driven development in an agile software development environment, where building in automated test procedures alongside functional code is paramount to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) of software.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Compensation & Benefits:

• HIRING SALARY RANGE: $91,500 - $113,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
