Position Specific Description

Engineer shall be responsible for the development of various natural gas distribution projects from project development, engineering, permitting and throughout construction.

Reviews natural gas system maps using ArcGIS , other underground facilities data, canal and railroad crossings, environmentally sensitive areas, plat and parcel information to come up with the most cost effective designs for new distribution gas main installation in support of Florida City Gas's Reliability and Infrastructure Improvement programs.

Prepare drawings to submit to various municipalities and other governmental agencies such as DEP, USACE and NASA to facilitate the company's natural gas expansion programs.

Manages the work of various external engineering consultants to ensure it meets Florida City Gas's Operating and Maintenance Standards. Such tasks include development of scope of work, review of proposals, award of contract and management of consultants throughout the project life cycle.

Positions can be filled in Doral, Brevard or Jupiter West.

This job is responsible for engineering assignments of limited scope and complexity using a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques in solving problems. Employees in this job work under the supervision of a senior level engineer with specific work objectives.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs data analysis and basic engineering tasks for completion of small projects
• Performs engineering calculations required for moderate designs
• Collects and evaluates data to recommend courses of action
• Assists more experienced engineers in the completion of large complex projects
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
