Job Summary
The Engineer III is the advancing level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees at this level solve more complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with limited supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with even greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is progressively complex and varied.
This position supports multiple Grid Improvement Projects (GIP) (e.g. SOG, IVVC, Power Up, TDSIC, ADMS, system upgrades) providing subject matter expertise (SME) to ensure Grid automation capabilities are maximized and sustained to achieve reliability metrics, operational performance, and regulatory commitments. This position will provide subject matter expertise for the Advanced Functions and System Optimization for DMS/DSCADA/OMS/ADMS grid systems and operational data management to maintain standards and quality assurance.
This position will focus on supporting the ADMS OMS projects providing subject matter expertise (SME) to ensure the new GE OMS capabilities are maximized and sustained to achieve reliability metrics, operational performance, and regulatory commitments. This position will:
• Provide SME to the ADMS program ensuring ADMS delivers the expected functionality to meet DCC and Field users needs.
• Focused on supporting the technical and functional integration of the solution.
• Provide technical coordination between OMS, DMS, SCADA and Advanced Functions (like common configuration requirements and validation of the configurations).
• Provide Technical Requirements and Functional/Technical Testing needs.
• Provide the subject matter knowledge for Testing and Requirements Teams (i.e., OMS, DMS SCADA, Advanced Functions).
• Provide Feature analysis and development for ADMS, including staying up to date on the GE roadmap to inform future decisions for the Program.
• Support all team PMs, POs with coordination between active and planned ADMS projects (DER, CVR, AFL, CL FISR and Dot Upgrades).
• Collaborate to actively provide technical guidance for all deployments.
This resource will also help ensure the GIP projects deliver the expected functionality to meet DCC and field operational user needs and help ensure we achieve the benefits expected by these grid investments and regulatory commitments once the projects are completed. This position will serve as a SME for DMS/DSCADA/OMS/ADMS advanced functions responsible for testing, quality assurance, incident management, and project level initiatives for system modifications and enhancements. This role will also have responsibility to monitor and troubleshoot daily the detailed real time DMS power flow models to support: Fault Isolation and Service Restoration (FISR), Fault Locating, Self-Optimizing Grid/Self-Healing teams (SOG/SHT), Volt/Var DER Management (IVVC/LVM), Demand Side Demand Reduction (DSDR), etc.
