Position Summary

Responsible for development of product requirements, feature requirements, systems, and performance analysis

Role and Responsibilities

Responsible for development of product requirements, feature requirements, systems, and performance analysis. Conduct deep-dive customer sessions and new technology introduction of virtualized networks. Perform detailed analysis of 4G/5G Wireless Call Protocols. Responsible for analyzing the customer requirements, developing test strategy for features and functionalities, converting customer requirements into test plans and detailed test procedures. Debug issues and assist in determination of resolution to issues discovered during testing. Provide input for improvements in lab functionality, test automation, training, and lab maintenance procedures. Act as a subject matter expert multi-functional team of R&D, Systems engineering, and product validation to introduce Samsung products to Wireless Carrier. Work with cross-functional teams to conduct customer deep-dive sessions and new technology introductions on RAN product line. Responsible for analyzing the customer requirements, converting them to system requirements and work with R&D for the high-level solution approach/design. Responsible for technical management of new products and software releases to ensure that promised features are delivered with expected performance. Provide technical support for the pre-sales process and create compelling technical and commercial solutions to help achieve business objectives. Translate and communicate complex technical design considerations to Samsung sales team and customers.

Skills and Qualifications

Master's degree in Computer Networks, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or a foreign equivalent, plus 2 years of post baccalaureate experience in job offered or related. In lieu of a Master's degree and 2 years of experience, Employer is willing to accept a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Networks, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or a foreign equivalent plus at least 5 years of progressively responsible postbaccalaureate experience in job offered or related. Applicants must have 2 years of experience (5 years in possession of relevant Bachelor's Degree) in the following: (1) wireless networks; (2) 3GPP systems: Core and RAN networks, architecture and protocols and ongoing 3GPP Rel-15/16 activities; (3) FCAPS (Fault, Configuration, Performance, or Security) management of RAN elements (CU/DU) in wireless networks; (4) system engineering activities including feature requirements identification, feature description documentation, parameter optimization, performance analysis, test strategy creation, and problem troubleshooting; (5) Configuring virtual switches, network connections, Virtual port types (i.e.: SR-IOV, virtio), Security Groups, and VLANs; (6) IP Routing Protocols; (7) authoring the SW upgrade procedures and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for high severity issues in the commercial network; (8) Wireless systems including PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC and PDCP layers; and (9) Protocol analyzers, test tools including QXDM, Wireshark, Channel Emulator, Spectrum Analyzers, and Signal Generators. 20% domestic travel required.
