THE ROLE: Network Engineer

Job Summary:

Presidio is looking for an Engineer to join our Raleigh based Network/Security team. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented with strong technical skills and experience and can work in a fast-paced solution provider setting that requires a great deal of interaction among associates and executives. The individual must also have leadership qualities with strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of people. S/He must know the important elements in time management and prioritization in order to manage to multiple deadlines, have a great sense of detail while also being able to see the "big picture" and be able to multi-task and take initiative when needed. They need to manage the implementation of complex technical design and implementation of security solutions and other related technologies.

Travel Requirements:

In this role, you may travel outside the local area up to 30% of the time. Travel to client sites in local area is expected as needed. This position is based out of the Raleigh, NC location

Job Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibilities include performing project-based engineering, design, installation and troubleshooting of data/security networks.
• Working with junior members of the engineering team to successfully implement secure network solutions.
• Routing, switching, and security configuration and deployment in an enterprise environment.
• Provide network engineering consulting services, including: assessment, design and implementation of secure networking environments.
• Assist clients through planning, design and implementation of secure data communications networks.
• Develop comprehensive graphical and text-based design documentation and effectively manage the implementation process from design to customer acceptance.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge and experience with design, implementation and support of the following:
• Network Access Control, including Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) implementation design, configuration, and deployment in a lab environment.
• IDS/IPS solutions (Cisco is a must).
• Firewalls/VPNs (Cisco and Palo Alto are a must, Aruba, Fortinet, Juniper, etc. are optional).
• Complex routing and switching solutions (Cisco is a must, Arista is a plus).
• Associate skill level in design and deployment of one or more of the following cloud-based security solutions;
  • Umbrella, Cloudlock, email security
  • Stealthwatch, Firepower NGFW
• Cisco Cloud Security
• Palo Alto Prisma Cloud
• CCNP- Preferred

Additional Desired Skills:

• Basic automation skills using one of the following platforms: Python, Ansible or Terraform
• Python
• Ansible
• TerraForm
• Experience with a combination of wireless platforms:
  • HPE Aruba
  • Cisco
  • Meraki
  • Juniper Mist
• Experience with a combination of Network Management (NMS) tools such as:
  • Cisco Prime
  • Cisco DNA Center
  • Junos Space
  • Aruba Central & Airwave
  • SolarWinds

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
• 3-5+ years' experience with Networking & Security portfolios
