Engineer Principal - Electronics Fabrication Process
What You Will Do:

• Develop, qualify, validate, and document fabrication processes for Printed Wire Assemblies (PWAs) using automated equipment, including, but not limited to: Stencil Printers, Pick and Place, Convection and Vapor Phase Reflow Ovens, and Selective Soldering.
• Train technicians to operate automated PWA fabrication equipment.
• Develop and implement process qualifications and validations for PWA fabrication processes, including background test design and implementation, sample selection, researching historical supporting documentation, writing detailed engineering reports, presentations, and implementing tests.
• Create and conduct Design of Experiments (DOE), collect and report metrics, and investigate process improvements for PWA fabrication processes. Lean six sigma experience desired.
• Apply highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts.
• Lead a multi-discipline team to meet cost, schedule, and technical requirements for assigned projects.
• Lead teams in the design, development, and execution of innovative research projects.
• Act independently to uncover and resolve issues and pull together diverse data associated with the development and implementation of operational programs.
• Develop information that extends knowledge in electronics fabrication. Information may form the basis of newly developed concepts, theories, processes, and products.
• Lead and direct group discussions. Organize and direct effective meetings. Effectively summarize subject matter and direct groups to closure on topics.
• Document and validate any specific expertise as requested.
• Work cross functionally with Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering to develop best practices.
• Maintain compliance with all requirements, including, but not limited to: EHS, NQA and internal and external audits.
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

What You'll Need:

• BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 12 or more years related experience.
• Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

Full-Time On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site full-time. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

• May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position, however applicant must be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access. Compensation & Benefits:

• HIRING SALARY RANGE: $142,500 - $180,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
