Engineer - Systems Design

Job Description

Successful candidate will work with cross-functional Werres employees, project teams, customers, and suppliers to provide detailed designs for special equipment for material handling in a variety of industries. The process involves understanding the customer's goals and objectives, and developing smart engineered solutions to meet these goals. Will train on specialty engineering aspects of job. Werres Systems Group's goal is to help our customers compete in their markets by providing the best material handling solutions and technology.

Location: Frederick, MD

Full- Time

Performance Objectives:

• Manage and ensure projects are executed in the most effective manner in regards to time, cost (budget) and function.
• AutoCad expertise, ability to contribute to team's continuous improvement effort
• Work on variety of engineering projects - custom material handling projects, research and development projects.
• Work with Engineering leader to provide robust equipment designs.
• Clear communication with management, project team, and suppliers on issues that arise

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
• >3 years experience
• Strong mechanical design aptitude.
• Strong technical drawing skills.
• Strong project management skills
• Extremely computer literate with general Microsoft Office products.
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills
• Ability to travel 25%

General Job Function:

• Develop designs for material handling related systems from concept to detailed installation drawings.
• Research and design of everyday projects as well as future pure R D projects.
• Work with management to develop proposals for customers as needed.
• Help resolve engineering issues as they arise by working closely with project team, vendors, and management
• Lead Projects from beginning to conclusion
• Meet and exceed our customer's expectations through superior design and implementation.
• Be a great team player and contributor within the office
• Constantly review and master applicable business technology to ensure we are using the best tools
