Engineering Change Coordinator

ABC Technologies' core business as an Automotive Tier 1 supplier is in the Design, Development and Production of plastic automotive systems and components for OEMs worldwide.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Engineering Change Coordinator will monitor and update engineering requests, authorizations, changes, and communication activities. Schedule and conduct regular meetings with engineering team to ensure all metrics are on time and complete. Track and communicate on a regular basis ECR/ECO backlog and progress. Monitor and populate APQP documents related to ECN's, ECO, ECR's, running changes, etc. Evaluate proper ECR/ECO submittal ensuring internal and external customer compliance. Coordinate with engineering team members, customers (as requested), vendors, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements and time bound activities are being met. Serve as single point plant contact for engineering related to ECN/ECR/ECO, and BOM issues.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Tracking and resolving issues as they relate to safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale
• Attend learning opportunities to gain professional and technical knowledge
• Daily oversite of change management practices, policies and procedures
• Create all necessary APQP documents necessary to document and communicate changes
• Direct and coordinate all activities related to the implementation of engineering changes
• Driving and coordinating launch and change related activities
• Schedule regular meetings to ensure all Company team members critical to the process are kept informed and are completing necessary actions as assigned
• Identify and implement improvements of the engineering change process
• Primary plant contact for understanding and documenting engineering BOM or build issues on current product
• Attend meetings to prioritize and track ECR/ECO/ECN progress and closure

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 5-years' experience as Engineering Change Coordinator in an Automotive Manufacturing environment
• Track, communicate, and recommend solutions on a regular basis for ECR/ECO backlog and progress
• Monitor and populate APQP documents related to ECN's, ECO, ECR's, running changes, etc.
• Evaluate proper ECR/ECO submittal ensuring internal and external customer compliance. Ensure accuracy of design changes for conformance and correctness to standards
• Lead coordination and communication between plant and engineering
• Must be familiar with Engineering Organizations and how they function
• Must be able to clearly communicate requirements to other individuals involved in the ECR/ECO process
• Must be organized and a self-starter
• Must have people skills to deal with various department customers
• Computer proficiency - email, Word, Excel required
• Understanding of IATF/TS16949 and APQP requirements
• Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and listening
• Coordinate scheduling order pull ahead timing with production
• Ability to read and interpret part drawings and quality documents-including GD&T and CMM reports
• Conduct BOM audits to ensure new releases are accurately coded
