The Opportunity
The Channel Frameworks & Services team is driving a new way of building web experiences for our customers. We are looking for a forward-thinking Engineering Director who would be responsible for the end to end design and delivery for customer value capabilities in US and international markets directing a team of engineers driving engineering standard processes. You will be hands on in designing the fundamental architecture that powers our web frameworks like content management, search and navigation and web authoring.
As this role will play heavy influence in the success of our goals, we are searching for candidates with strong fundamental experience in software development, data management, and core software design principles. Focus: Provides technical leadership and solution delivery at a platform level.
Organizational Context: Director role leading scrum teams of Software Engineers.
How will you make an impact in this role?
- Identify sophisticated and/or broad problems and issues within assigned technology initiatives and formulate recommendations based on industry standards and practices.
- Collaborate with leadership across teams to define technical solutions and implementation to drive software maturity and standard processes.
- Validation of application performance and integration of component systems and provide process flow diagrams.
- Drive the engineering resilience of software and automation tools.
- Incorporation of user story analysis and elaboration to optimize software solutions.
- Apply visualization and other techniques to fast-track concepts.
- Drive the reengineering of systems and code for continuous improvement.
- This person will be supporting a Technical Platform or its significant application components.
- Works on sophisticated issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of large-scale technology engineering and formal management. Such as:
- Successful engineering and deployment of enterprise-grade technology products in an Agile environment
- Large scale software product engineering experience with modern tools and delivery methods in a sophisticated environment (i.e. DevOps, CD/CI, Agile, etc.)
- Creation of Engineering Best Practices adopted by a large segment of the technology organization.
- Creation of tools or other technologies that become integral to the operation of the platform.
- Successful assimilation of new technology into an existing technology stack
- Good influential and collaboration skills; ability to drive consensus and tangible outcomes, proven by breaking down silos and fostering cross communication.
- Hands-on coding experience in the platform's primary technology stack (relevant frameworks, languages, OS libraries, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with Java and Javascript is preferred.
- Expertise in building fault-tolerant, scalable solutions that are performed at a global enterprise scale.
- Full understanding of Service Oriented & domain driven design principles and implementation patterns.
- Ability to construct enterprise-grade APIs using innovative techniques and best practices. Knowledge of reactive paradigms like vert.x is a plus.
- Knowledge of web development frameworks.
- Hands on development experience of large-scale application development and using JavaScript & Java.
- Proficient in cross-platform integration
- Able to diagnose, resolve, and prevent the recurrence of system outage.
- Channel-specific technical skills as required by the platform, such as web, mobile, voice or interactive media.
- Engineering skill with wide-ranging experience; able to resolve sophisticated issues in creative and effective ways.

Salary Range: $170,000.00 to $255,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits.
