Job Description

Team: IT

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Engineering Director in the United States.

This is a senior, client-facing leadership role at the intersection of enterprise data architecture, consulting, and hands-on engineering. The position focuses on shaping and delivering modern data platforms that power large-scale digital transformation initiatives across cloud environments. You will act as both a strategic architect and a technical authority, guiding clients and internal teams through complex data modernization journeys. The role spans pre-sales solutioning, architectural design, and delivery oversight across data lakes, lakehouses, and cloud-native analytics ecosystems. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across consulting, engineering, and sales to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions. Operating in a fast-paced, highly consultative environment, this role has a direct impact on enterprise data strategy and execution.

Accountabilities:

  • Define and evolve enterprise data architecture strategies, including conceptual, logical, and physical models aligned with business and technology goals.
  • Lead end-to-end design of modern data ecosystems across ingestion, processing, storage, and analytics layers in cloud environments.
  • Drive solution architecture in pre-sales engagements, including proposals, PoCs, and client-facing technical advisory discussions.
  • Architect and oversee implementation of scalable data platforms using technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, and major cloud providers.
  • Establish and enforce standards for data governance, security, compliance, and lifecycle management across enterprise environments.
  • Guide engineering teams in building optimized data pipelines, streaming architectures, and AI/ML-ready data foundations.
  • Mentor architects and engineers while contributing to practice development, reusable assets, and technical accelerators.
  • Requirements:

    • 12+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related fields, including 5+ years in solution or enterprise architecture roles.
    • Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP, with hands-on experience designing distributed data systems.
    • Deep knowledge of modern data platforms including Databricks (Lakehouse, Delta Lake, MLflow, Unity Catalog) and Microsoft Fabric.
    • Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data lake or lakehouse implementations and complex data migrations.
    • Strong programming and data engineering skills in SQL, Python, PySpark, or Scala.
    • Experience with real-time and batch processing frameworks, including streaming technologies such as Kafka or Event Hub.
    • Solid understanding of data governance, security models (IAM, RBAC, encryption), and compliance frameworks.
    • Strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical architecture.
    • Relevant cloud or data engineering certifications are highly desirable.
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive compensation aligned with senior leadership and consulting responsibilities
      • Remote-first flexibility with up to 50% travel across the United States
      • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage
      • Retirement savings support (e.g., 401k plans where applicable)
      • Paid time off and flexible work arrangements
      • Exposure to enterprise-scale transformation programs and leading-edge data technologies
      • Career growth opportunities within a global digital consulting environment
