Engineering Intern
Job Description
Pioneer Natural Resources is seeking candidates for 2022 summer engineering internships. Interns will work with an engineering mentor on challenging engineering projects, in a corporate or field office. The positions are an excellent opportunity for graduate and undergraduate engineering candidates to enhance their skills through real world experience and also to develop a better understanding of engineering and/or field operations in the oil and gas industry. The job also provides the intern and Pioneer an opportunity to decide if full time employment as an engineer is preferred once a degree program has been completed. Internships generally last for 11 to 13 weeks and are flexible depending on the applicant's availability.
What to Expect:
As an engineering intern, you will be given a value-adding engineering project that will provide you with engineering experience, challenge your creativity, and introduce you to the technical challenges associated with oil and natural gas exploration and production. At the end of your internship, you will present your project to Pioneer's senior management and senior technical staff. If you are a first time Pioneer intern, then you will participate in a one week field trip, where you will tour Pioneer's various domestic operations.
Locations:
Office internships in Las Colinas (Dallas), Texas; and Pioneer Field offices are available to undergraduate students who will be graduating within one year of their internship. Field office internships in Midland, Texas are available to undergraduate students, who will not be graduating within one year of their internship.
Job Requirements:
• Enrolled in a Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering degree plan
• Ability to work in a collaborative fashion with multidiscipline asset team to meet business goals and objectives
• Independent, innovative, and productive with strong work ethic
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
