The Aerospace, Defense & Marine (AD&M) Engineering Internship is an exciting opportunity to gain industry experience within the AD&M business unit in the Americas region at TE Connectivity. You will have the opportunity to gain unique experience and insights across multiple product value streams which include Connectors, Relays, Wire & Cable, Rugged Fiber Optics, Systems Solutions and Marine Oil & Gas. You will get the opportunity to work on New Product Development, Product Engineering and Testing and will be able to experience what it takes to develop a product from conception through qualification to full manufacturing implementation.

This position will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and manufacturing support of products and related accessories for the harsh environments found in aerospace and defense applications. Using product technology roadmaps from the business office, customer specifications, and robust Voice of the customer (VoC) you will work as part of a multidisciplinary project team to develop a plan for each product/project and execute the strategy for product development to help grow the AD&M business.

Responsibilities:

This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must currently be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is essential.
  • Experience with 3D modelling, direct or parametric would be an advantage.
  • Interest in simulation/analysis tools (FEA, Moldflow, CFD).
  • Interest in designing product for Additive Manufacturing/Rapid Prototyping technologies.
  • Experience applying Geometric Design and Tolerancing methods.
  • Understanding of creating and checking Engineering Prints and Documents.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement innovative thinking (patents, noteworthy designs, novel process improvements, taking risks).
  • Customer focused, building strong relationships.

  • Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0
  • Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited University or College for the duration of the Internship
