The Opportunity

As QuidelOrtho continues to grow, we are seeking an Engineering Intern who will assist in the design, specification, configuration control, fixturing, setup, and qualification of Test Fixtures and assist in day-to-day manufacturing issues. This position is onsite in Rochester, NY, and will be part of the 2023 Summer Internship Program.

The Responsibilities

• Interact with cross-functional teams to develop material flow, specify process requirements, and system performance
• Assist in assembly aid development and test fixtures
• Research and specify equipment and tools
• Work with Suppliers to procure custom tools and test equipment
• Manage configuration through bill of material and work process to standard
• Create/modify engineering and qualification test plans
• Execute test plans and create reports
• Work w/ engineering on new issues from manufacturing
• Obtain CofC's, datasheets, review PPAP's, and Replacement-in-kind analysis
• Present to cross-functional teams

The Job Deliverables

• Deliver assigned tasks to a project plan timeline
• A final poster at the end of the internship is also expected to showcase the work that was completed

The Individual

Required:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree or graduate program majoring in Electrical, Mechanical, Process, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum Year in school: Junior or beyond
• Minimum GPA: 3.0
• Knowledge of technical areas including: schematics, configuration control, documentation, electro-mechanical troubleshooting, ESD, and test protocols.
• Knowledge of Mechanical drawings and tolerancing, materials, software, experience with electro-mechanical assemblies and test fixtures.
  Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Interns should be prepared to fully commit to the start and end dates proposed
• Interns are expected to provide their housing, travel, and any other requirements necessary for their participation in this program

The pay range for the Internship Program is between $16/hr to $30/hr, The pay rate will be determined by the year in school, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the candidate. Benefits are not included for this position.
