Engineering Intern

XOS has a great opportunity for an Electrical Engineering Intern who will help the efforts of our engineering team. In this role, you will assist us on a variety of projects relating to our analyzers. Our analyzers offer elemental analysis solutions that improve public safety and customer efficiency.The candidate for this position should have an introductory knowledge of electronics, circuit design, electrical CAD, and/or embedded systems.Engage in all phases of product development, including concept, documentation, design, prototype, test, and manufacturing introduction. This position will assist in resolving and improving product design, process and quality.You will have an excellent opportunity to collaborate closely with a small team, learning and developing Product Engineering skills.This is a paid on-site position in East Greenbush, NY (near Albany, NY), remote or hybrid work is not available.Responsibilities:

• Support the Engineering Department and XOS in various tasks such as design, testing, prototype assembly.
• Collaborate on projects and report the progress of assigned work.
• Timely and accurate completion of work.
• Self-starter to resolve issues towards on-time completion of projects.

Qualifications:

• Ability to be mentored and follow a process through technical challenges.
• Well-developed time management and organization skills.
• Proactive demeanor, with a desire to drive continuous improvement.
• Creative, continually looking to open up the boundaries, while still maintaining quality & process.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to work towards root cause.
• Knowledge of some (but not all) of the following: electrical circuit design and analysis, PCB design, power systems and controls, Embedded System Design and Programming, Python, circuit troubleshooting and assembly.

Required Education/Skills/Experience:

• Completed 2 years of Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Applied Physics or a similar field.
• General knowledge of Windows-based programs or similar.
• Class projects or other work experience in problem-solving and design solutions.
