Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Water/Wastewater Intern in the Cleveland, OH office.
This position is expected to begin on May 15, 2023
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional
- Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study
- Intern 2 - completion of second year of qualified study
- Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks related to municipal wastewater treatment design and construction administration activities. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
- Work under supervision of a project manager, contract administrator and/or senior-level team member
- Participate in contract administration services during the construction of wastewater infrastructure and facilities
- Perform municipal wastewater treatment plant site investigations, data collection and analysis activities
- Prepare technical memoranda, contribute to preliminary and detailed design reports
- Prepare permitting applications for local regulatory agencies
- Participate in wastewater engineering/process design activities including preparation of design calculations, equipment sizing and selection, process layouts, engineering specifications and cost estimates
- Work collaboratively on multidisciplinary design teams and assist with coordination tasks
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently in pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering (or Bachelor of Science in Engineering) degree in Civil, Environmental or equivalent
- Must have completed second year of study
- Relocation is not available for this position
