AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern to be based in Virginia Beach, VA.
This position is expected to begin August 2023.
AECOM is seeking an Intern to work for our Virginia Beach office, supporting our infrastructure engineering group in our Water Business Line. The successful candidate will have an interest in building essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and will help to enhance the future transition from student to professional. The candidate will work in a team environment and will be responsible for performing specific tasks and discrete portions of broader assignments while receiving supervision, guidance and mentoring from our experienced engineers.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Asset management
- File scanning
- Inventory Database Organization and tracking
- Storm Water Management Facility Review
- Review construction drawings and calculations
- Delineation of Drainage Areas
- BMP inspections (Could send out as a second person as needed and provide field experience)
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree: Civil, Environmental, Biological Systems Engineering or science or math-based field (IT, Accounting, Environment or related)
- Must have completed 1 year of study in the applicable program
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Reputation as a high performer.
- Good organizational skills and strong verbal/written communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software including MS Word, Excel, familiarity with data base input/output.
- Relocation assistance and/or per diem is not offered for this position.
- This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
