What you will do:

Join our team as an Engineering IT team. Partner with peers in the Engineering Services IT organization as well as business and IT leaders globally. We would like you to lead all Engineering IT Data activities, provide thought leadership on strategic direction, and drive successful delivery of IT investments and services. Develop, lead, and be an excellent partner with business and IT leaders across the assigned responsibility area in a matrix organization and participate in the development of IT strategies in support of business plans.

Own the Engineering Data Factory in all aspects of its operation. Working with all internal and external partners to ensure this function is meeting its commitments and is providing data leadership. Coordinate and lead teams consisting of, but not limited to, IT data analysts, engineering data leads, business data stewards, external partner resources and technologies.

How you will do it:

  • Serve as a liaison and project leader in partnership between the Business Unit (BU) IT department, Corporate IT department, BU Engineering Services department, Product Business teams, and cross-Product Business functions. Optimally collaborate with teams that span IT and the business.
  • Express a clear understanding of business structures, hierarchies, products, and services supported. Demonstrate knowledge outside of the technology arena with the Product Business supported.
  • Partner with other IT leaders, communicate and discuss technology trends, specific changes, and technology roadmaps.
  • Understand short and long term Engineering Services business plans and objectives, IT investments and assets. Participate in development of an IT strategy that enables Engineering Services business strategies. Own the creation and continuous improvement of a business capability and IT enablement roadmap. Revise roadmap on a yearly basis and support investment proposal development.
  • Own the ideation and high-level planning of IT projects including specification of high-level business requirements, formulation of business process and technology solution options, creation and vetting of business cases, and high-level project planning (scope, schedule, & budget).
  • Project responsibilities include analysis, documentation, system design, development of project plans, time and cost estimates, and Capital Appropriation Requests.
  • Incorporate process standardization and simplification improvements in high-level designs to enable Global Products-wide leverage and streamline the IT applications landscape over time.
  • Bring together requirements, perform analysis, and make recommendations for design of software specifications; collect required approvals; build project schedules; deliver training; and coordinate implementation and support of developed applications.
  • Orchestrate trade-off analyses and assessments (project timing, technology approaches, requirements prioritization, etc.), support solution design and testing activities, assess overall quality of solution and fit with business capability needs, ensure go-live readiness of Business and IT communities, and measure business results after solution stabilization.
  • Evaluate new technologies passionate about data transformation and/or methodologies and develop knowledge in these areas to apply to company projects.
  • Work closely with and drive accountability and results from service providers and support teams.
  • May provide third level support for applications, including working with technical teams, solving issues, routing to IT management, and providing documentation for other team members to use to respond to support issues.
  • Identify mentoring needs and plan for skill transfer/development including mentoring less experienced team members.
  • Make decisions and achieve results while being a role model for things we value.

What we look for:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related subject area.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience successfully delivering sophisticated Business Technology projects and achieving quantified business outcomes for a related business/industry.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in direct project leadership role.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in product development domain.
  • We prefer a detailed understanding of PLM data models. Must have foundational ERP data model understanding. Should have basic database experience (Oracle, SQL). PLM ETL tools such as Informatica CDQ, MDM or equivalent preferred.
  • IT experience including strategy, enterprise architecture, system implementation, technology infrastructure, and program/project management.
  • Knowledge of data transformation and cleansing process, tools and techniques; Solution Architecture principles, processes, and techniques; and enterprise integration techniques and strategies.
  • Data migration for large scale PLM projects.
  • Implementation and roll-out of scalable out-of-the-box solutions as well as custom application development.
  • Understanding of Agile concepts.
  • Produce clear, concise, and accurate documentation detailing business processes and requirements. Ability to perform abstraction, modeling, and theoretical reasoning in the support, creation, and design of sophisticated systems.
  • Sophisticated knowledge of product development data models, principles, processes, and techniques.
  • Understanding of PLM. Solid grasp of PTC Windchill preferred.
  • Work multi-functionally with a global community including Business Unit and Corporate IT, horizontal and vertical business functions, and end users.
  • Communicate effectively with technology, business, and executive audiences.
  • Travel varies from 25% to as much as 50% (at peak) including both domestic and international. Typical travel is 1-2 weeks.
  • Ability to work with global teams, requiring flexibility of working hours.

Preferred:

  • We prefer a PMI or SAFe certification.
  • BRMi certification preferred.
