Engineering Lead

Dedicated to RoadieXD™, Roadie’s brand new cross-dock solution, our Engineering Lead will oversee a team of ambitious engineers charged with leveraging our technology to create smart, innovative solutions for the logistics challenges of the 21st century. Your team’s work will evolve the architecture and design of the Roadie platform to meet the ever-increasing scalability and performance requirements for RoadieXD™. You will lead a fast-paced team comprised of backend, full stack, and mobile engineers so having a working knowledge of each area would be ideal. 

What You’ll Do

• Oversee a multidisciplinary team of engineers through technical project management and development 
• Implement a scalable model for software development that exceeds expectations in delivery, timing and quality
• Apply experience and knowledge of industry best practices to support and continuously improve the performance, efficiency, and maintainability of Roadie’s platform
• Partner with technology leadership to build technical strategy, and effectively define supporting objectives and key results for team to execute upon
• Streamline the software development life cycle
• Optimize engineering team by growing as needed, working to help attract top-technical talent, and continuously coaching and developing existing team members

What You Bring

• 7+ years of software architecture and software development experience
• 4+ years programming experience (Python, Ruby, Go preferred) 
• 2+ years experience managing and leading engineering teams, demonstrating a track record of successful deliveries 
• BS or MS in Engineering or other STEM discipline, preferred 
• Working knowledge of how mobile and web clients interact with the backend
• Desire for continuous improvement of processes, code, and efficiency
• Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex problems into digestible insights
