Engineering Lead, Research & Insights

Applecart’s platform uses publicly available or fully permissioned data to map billions of social relationships between nearly every American adult and enable clients to deliver content directly to decision makers and those that matter most to them.

We are hiring a Engineering Lead, Research & Insights in our New York City office.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for developing Applecart's Decision Maker Insights product, whose objective is to showcase to customers the efficacy of our platform in achieving their desired outcomes. You will start and manage a distributed team of software engineers responsible for building automated data ingestion and ETLs pipelines, aggregations, APIs and performance visualizations.

What You'll Do

• You are a versatile developer with experience in full-stack and data engineering
• You have a mind for software architecture
• You have a track record delivering robust technology in collaboration with Product Managers
• You have experience working with distributed teams, including external consultants. 

Experiences and Capabilities You Bring:

• You have 10+ years of professional software development experience, including front-end, back-end and data engineering
• You have designed ETL pipelines using distributed computing frameworks such as Spark
• You have strong computer science fundamentals, as well as solid command of operational best practices (e.g. “clean” code, test-driven development, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, etc…)
• You excel at providing technical guidance through close collaboration, documentation and rigorous code reviews
• You are an excellent technical and cross-functional communicator

Preferred Qualifications:

• Your language of choice is Python
• AWS is your cloud platform of choice
• You have DevOps/Cloud Infrastructure experience
• You have React.js experience

This is a hybrid role. Work from anywhere on Monday and Friday and in Applecart's New York City office Tuesday through Thursday.

Compensation:

Our compensation package consists of three components: (i) a base salary, (ii) annual cash bonus, and (iii) generous equity compensation.

The base salary range for this role is between $180,000.00-$230,000.00, based on the candidate's experience and skills relative to the requirements listed in the “Who You Are” section above. The salary range provided is exclusive of a significant amount of compensation that candidates will receive in the form of cash bonus and equity compensation. The salary range provided for this role is specific to candidates located in the New York City area.
