Engineering Manager
Job Description
Calvetti Ferguson is seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Tax Incentives practice.ย As an Engineering Manager you will collect and review technical documentation related to commercial and residential building tax incentives, such as Section 179D & Cost Segregation, review 3D building models, and more. This person will be under the direct supervision of a licensed professional engineer (PE). In addition, the candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional client service, developing and maintaining strong client relationships, and coaching other professional staff. You will be charged with effectively scoping, managing, and delivering tax incentive studies as the project manager. Candidates will have opportunities to learn about and assist in all the high value tax incentive offerings the firm provides.
Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in Energy Efficient Buildings tax incentive (sec. 179D) studies;
- Lead and participate in Cost Segregation tax incentive studies;
- Collect and review technical documentation from client and building owner personnel;
- Develop and improve business practices and technical tools related to sec. 179D and Cost Segregation;
- Assist with conducting interviews of highly specialized client personnel with deep technical backgrounds and expertise;
- Perform technical tax law and building code research and apply it to client facts and circumstances;
- Mentor and train junior staff in the technical aspects of energy modeling and project management;
- Travel up to 35%;
- Perform building inspections and certify energy modeling results;
- Work with general tax personnel and assist in teaching them about relevant aspects of tax incentives projects.
Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience, preferably in the building design, construction, or tax incentive industries;
- Bachelorโs or Masterโs degree, in engineering or architecture;
- PE License or EIT with PE exam passed;
- Knowledge or experience using AutoCAD, eQUEST, and/or EnergyPlus;
- Solid verbal and written communication skills with the ability to evaluate and articulate complex information;
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and research databases;
- Project management experience a plus;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact well with clients and your team.
